One of the disadvantages of wi-fi mobile phones, apart from the smaller signal, is that they don’t admit SMS from other mobiles. But Connectotel, an English company, has developed a system that allows us to send text messages to any wi-fi terminal or even a computing one, by using Skype.To do so, you only have to send the SMS to an English number (code 44) and write ’skype name_user text’. The receiver will see it as soon as he/she opens Skype, or inmediately if it is running in that very moment.Connectotel is the same company that launched a free SMS sending service through Skype, nearly one year ago. They sent 15.000 messages. But the service hasn’t kept on running, probably because there isn’t a formula to charge for those SMS. Connectotel is currently selling the service to companies interested in offering it to their employees.
