Intel has counted the number of operator in the world which already use WiMax. According to the figures, 24 companies have already installed broadband nets based on this wireless technology, and another 11 will do it by the end of this year. Most of the infrastructures have been set in areas which didn’t have access to the broadband technology.These are the operators counted by Intel in each country:-Spain: Iberbanda-France: Altitude Telecom-Germany: Deutsche Breitband Dienste-Ireland: Irish Broadband-Finland: Savonlinnan Puhelin Oy-Austria: WiMAX Telecom-Poland: SferaNET-Ukraine: Witel-Latin America: AXTEL, BEC Telecom, Dedicado, Telgua, Americatel Peru, Digicel, Entel, Ertach, VeloCom-Philippines: Globe/Innove, Next Mobile-New Zealand: Call Plus-Taiwan: Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Fixed Networks-Saudi Arabia: Integrated Telecom CompanyThe hardware they use is made by some of these companies: : Airspan, Alcatel, Alvarion or Redline Communications.
